Easy Updo

Recently, before I chopped bangs into my hair,
I wore it up in this romantic bohemian style.
I love how effortless it is and I thought
I would share a quick how-to so you could try it out too

I also tried this hairstyle again, more recently with my bangs to see if it still works and I think
I like it this way even more!

An added bonus to this hairstyle is if you sleep in it or leave it in all day, when you take it out you have soft , heat free curls!

Let me know if you try it out and thanks for reading!

wiww-coral and gray

  I'm loving this color combo!

Lately, I've been trying to be better about wearing ALL my clothes.
Both this dress and those shoes are things that tend to sit unused in my closet.
One of my sisters actually pulled them out and said "here. wear this."

This whole look has a very relaxed vibe...it matches my crazy, un-brushed hair don't you think;)

How about you? Anything just sitting in your closet for no particular reason?

White T Challenge with Real Girl Glam

Happy Friday!
I'm linking up with Real Girl Glam in the
White Tee Challenge

I decided to make it a real challenge and went with the over-sized white tee
 (aka my husbands)

Yep. I apparently don't own a white tee shirt...But I really wanted to participate in this challenge so I paired it with this clingy maxi skirt and wedges to upgrade the tee from super casual to just a little bit dressy and belted it so my figure still appeared feminine ;)

I stacked this bracelet with my new favorite accessory; the wrap watch, and this necklace/bracelet to give the outfit some color. I  layered 2 necklaces with a little bit of sparkle to finish this look!

I love the way these pieces work together-and added bonus? SO comfortable.  I think I'll add a light blazer and wear this out for our next date night!
Thanks for reading! How do you like to wear your white tee shirt??

Happy Wednesday!  This week seems long somehow...it's funny how some weeks just fly by while others just drag on. Not that its been a bad week! I just feel like I have lots of time. It's probably the warmer weather and thoughts of a lazy summer. Maybe its not that I have more time, I'm just planning to do less haha! Ok!  Lets see what I wore last week ;)
This is what I wore Saturday to go get my haircut. To be honest I'm having a little haircut remorse especially looking at these pictures;-(oh well...it grows.  After my haircut we spent the day in my in-laws pool while Michael worked on his project car.
Monday we just hung out at home getting some house work done! I just love that wrap watch. It was a gift from Michael for my birthday and it is my new favorite accessory! be prepared to see it almost everyday;)
Tuesday was another mellow day at home.  I love the movement in this dress and how easy it is to wear. I feel like it stands alone well and doesn't need a lot of styling! My hair on the other hand...I forgot how high maintenance bangs are...

Bang Bang

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I got a haircut this weekend!

To tell the truth I'm still playing around with and getting used to them...I haven't had bangs in forever and I think I was just itching for a change!

So what do you think?

Welcome to What I Wore Wednesday!
I hope you find a little everyday fashion inspiration!

I wore this last Wednesday for library time and a playdate afterwards.
I love these big flowy tops for summer-still cute but comfortable too!!

This was Thursday.  We went out to my In-laws so Michael could work on his project car
and then I had a girls movie night.

One more-and this one really doesn't count...

Friday Night we went with a group of friends to see The Great Gatsby!
Our whole group went all out and dressed in 20's attire.

Any excuse for a costume is good for me-even if the movie wasn't amazing...
As we were leaving Gwen told me I looked like Lady Mary from Downton Abby which made my night;)

Thanks for joining me!

3 ways to wear: Lace Shorts

I've missed doing these!
Today I'm playing around with different looks for these lace shorts

Bardot Layered Lace Short

The lace is obviously very soft and feminine in nature and I didn't want to stray too far from that.
I think it's kind of fun to just embrace the whole romantic feel sometimes.
 Something important to note-
If you're on the lookout for a pair of these shorts please; Make sure they're LONG enough! This is not the time for a daisy duke fit! Otherwise you run the risk of looking like you're just out and about in your underpants. Not a cute look. I personally think these shorts look best when they're a slightly longer and looser fit-not baggy-but skimming the skin.

3 ways to wear: lace shorts

look #1 is polished and put together with out trying too hard.
I'm loving the olive green paired with the cream
and the slight safari feel from both the cork wedges
 and the awesome bone/tooth necklace.

3 ways to wear: lace shorts

look #2 is perfect weekend wear. Easy, comfortable and cute!
Nothing is more feminine than a blush tone paired with lace.
This looks like mother earth to me...trendy mother earth with shaved legs and deodorant that is ;)
3 ways to wear: lace shorts

look #3 is a bit more grounded than the other two in that
I've paired the shorts with deeper tones and 'harder' looking pieces.
The tone of the shoes and accessories play up the feminine vibe of the shorts
and make for a pleasing  juxtaposition of elements.
This is a good sightseeing type of outfit in that you could layer a fun colored tank
under the chambray and adjust to the weather. The shoes could be good for a lot of walking too if you just used some cushioned inserts and the bag is big enough to carry around traveling necessities without being a obnoxiously large.

What is your favorite way to wear lace shorts?

2013 Mothers Day Gift Guide!

mothers day gift guide!

Mothers Day is right around the corner and in case
you're drawing a blank on what to possibly get your mama
here are a few ideas for things that
I myself as a Mom would love to receive!

mothers day gift guide!

I love giving scarves as gifts. They always fit and there are so many
beautiful variations you're sure to find one that perfectly suits
whomever it is you're shopping for!
If you're in a time crunch Target has some really great options,
but if you still have time for online shopping I love ebay
Scarves are a great way to add some fun color to your wardrobe
or follow a pattern trend without a big investment.

mothers day gift guide!

Instead of a floral arrangement,
consider giving an assortment of succulents in a unique vase or planter!
Succulents are a low maintenance plant and they come in so many amazing varieties.
I love the way these plants look and if you're on a budget these are very affordable.
You can usually find them at your local garden center
& West Elm has some great planter/terrariums
but they are way out of my price range
so my cheaper alternative is a run-of-the mill terracotta pot and a can of spray paint!
You really can get creative
with the container you choose to use.

I am in LOVE with these watch/bracelet combos.
They come in so many different colors and designs
and they are just a little bit different and unique.
This is on my own wish list (hint hint).
Again Target has some great options,
as does ebay but I've also seen
some really beautiful, high end designs.

mothers day gift guide!

These beautiful earring from Kendra Scott are very popular right now
and they are the perfect ageless pop of color.
Her modern clean designs transcend generations
and are appropriate for mothers of all ages while still being classic enough
 to spend the little extra
I'm all about investing in timeless pieces and its for your MOM after all!
However, I do understand monetary constraints and if it's just not in your budget,
Forever 21 has some very similar copycat pieces that will do the trick!

mothers day gift guide!

If you feel you've exhausted your jewelry options in past Mothers Day gifts
consider a new jewelry box!
One that coordinates with her decor
that she could leave on her vanity or bathroom counter
for her most worn pieces could be useful and pretty!
who doesn't love functional design!
These lacquered boxes are from West Elm.

wiww

Hello!
Its time for what I wore Wednesday! WIWW is a weekly feature designed to motivate me into putting a little extra effort into how I dress. As a stay at home mom I think it would be way too easy to stay in yoga pants all day and I am so much more productive-not to mention confident-when I get dressed in the morning!

We are headed out the door here to a special Mommy-Daughter date! We had so much fun and yes we matched on purpose;) I'm also very proud of the felt flower clip I made-I've kind of been obsessed with playing with felt...
I felt very grecian in this and I really like that hairstyle-its so so simple to do too and I didn't use any bobby pins! You just wrap sections of hair around the headband and then pull and tug until it looks right! It also leaves a very pretty wave in your hair so its a great 2-day heat-less hairstyle! Maybe a tutorial?
Thanks for reading! Do you have a WIWW post? share a link in the comments!
