Mama Style link up

One of my favorite Mama/Fashion/ Lifestyle blogs, The Wiegands is hosting a link party called "Mama Style"  They ask how has my style changed since becoming a mother.


For me this is an easy question because I didn't have a definitive style until after Gwen. Having a baby did something amazing for me in that it gave me a sense of purpose. Direction. I knew/know this is exactly what I'm supposed to be doing with my life. This my Job.


 I get dressed every day because I take this "job"seriously. I want to "raise them up in the way they should go" and discipline and disciple them! Clothes are a tiny tiny part of this but the day-to-day actions being a mother requires are hard and can leave you drained and raw and  I've found that there is a certain ritual and an element of mental preparedness  in getting dressed for the day so I can meet my children with a smile ready to meet any challenges head on.

  Having children changed the way I felt about myself. As the mother of girls I realized that how I feel about myself becomes the example for how they will feel about themselves. How I relate to the mirror directly correlates to their self image! And most importantly my attitude is the model for theirs!  Thinking this way has changed the way I dress. I like to wear things I feel beautiful and confident in so I can teach and show my little girls how to someday be confident young women!
