This week I'm participating in the 7x7 remix challenge with Ma Nouvelle Mode
The challenge is this: pick 7 pieces, including shoes, and make 7 outfits with them!
Accessories are unlimited.
Including shoes in the 7 really made this challenging! I almost chose 2 pairs but at the last minute switched them out for a pair of shorts and I'm glad I did.
I decided to make this a true challenge and choose pieces I wouldn't necessarily pair together so lets see just how far I can stretch my wardrobe!
2.
Yes that's a skirt. Yes I'm wearing it as a shirt. I love to use clothing in more ways than one and this skirt actually works quite well as a top! Paired with skinny jeans and wedges this could actually be a lot dressier! But I didn't include either of those in my 7 so I went casual instead ;)
3.
This an outfit I definitely wouldn't have tried on my own!
The pattern mixing was new for me and has a fun unique vibe-definitely trying this again!
4.
5.
One challenge I didn't expect in creating these outfits, was fighting the urge to re-use the same jewelry! I love the way these bracelets work with the floral top but I really wanted to get out of my comfort zone and be creative! So this is the only outfit I put them with!
6.
This outfit is a good example of how you can be super casual but still look put together with a few accessories! Also I don't know what is going on with my face here...
7.
This floral top turned out to be the piece I used the most but never in the same way! Its been tucked, tied, belted and left loose! I love the yellow belt against the army green too. Its a belt I hardly ever pull out but thanks to this challenge I'll be utilizing it more often!
There you have my 7x7 challenge!! I have to say I LOVED participating! There are still outfit options too! I still could wear the purple dress alone, or the floral top with the shorts....
Thanks to all the lovely bloggers hosting the challenge linky-lets do this again!
Gorgeous outfits, my favorite is #3! I also did the challenge, it was hard to come up with all the outfits, but a lot of fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your looks! The striped top with the shorts is super cute:)
Deleteamazing. k I'm doing this. :) Love all your outfis!
ReplyDeleteDo it girl!! Thanks :)
DeleteWow, you are an accessorizing maven. I'm totally impressed with the ways you jazzed up these basic pieces! Yes, keeping it one pair of shoes was probably the hardest part for me too. But it helped me see that I don't really need so many different pairs, especially when traveling. LOVE all of these looks!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think that was the most valuable realization for me too-packing for trips SHOULD be so much easier now, right!?
DeleteI love that floral tank. I think my favorite was it and the navy striped maxi together
ReplyDeleteThat whole pattern on pattern thing is new for me-I'm easing into it ;)

DeleteYou did such a great job! I love that you wore a maxi skirt as a dress - it's so creative! I definitely need to give that a try. And I totally agree - "blobby" is a technical fashion term :)
ReplyDeletehaha;) It totally is. You should! Its SO comfortable!
DeleteLove the tied up shirt over the maxi! Uber fab!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Delete#3 is my favorite! That is a beautiful mix of patterns!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm loving it too!
DeleteLove all the outfits. Your jewelry collection is awesome.Loving the earrings on your 5th outfit. I really enjoy watching this type of challenges, it teaches you to make the most of your closet.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Me too! You always see inspiring outfits because everyone is trying to make the most of every piece!
DeleteCute outfits, all! 1, 4 and 6 are my favorites. I just tried wearing a maxi skirt as a dress for the first time in this challenge, and now I think I'm hooked. I haven't tried doing one as a shirt, though! How did you get that to work? Wasn't it bulky feeling?
ReplyDeleteI think it helped that that skirt was 1-made out of a lightweight material, and 2-it's has a high low hem so there wasn't a whole lot of bulk to tuck in-a regular maxi would probably be pretty bulky :)
DeleteI am loving this idea and your creativity.
ReplyDeleteGreat looks ;0
thank you!
DeleteI LOVE the purple maxi!!!! Did I miss where you say you got it??
ReplyDeleteThat dress was on the clearance rack at ross for $7!
