Settle down

Lets talk abut the craziness that was last weekend. It was my cousins wedding in Fredricksburg Which is about a 2 hour trip from here and Gwen was a flower girl so we needed to stay the night before for the rehearsal dinner.  Instead of making it a family trip we decided this would be an opportune time for Michael to refinish two of the floors in the house seeing as we have to leave anyway while the staining and polyurethane-ing is going on. Harmful fumes and all that.  I ended up riding and sharing a room with my sister and her little family so I wouldn't be alone (her daughter was a little flowerchild too)  SO while we were doing this:

No worries though! We can move the furniture back tomorrow!  At least in Ivy's room we can-the living room still needs texture and paint and trim. It also needs a new couch since I gave ours away (this is a not so subtle hint to the loving man;)) We know its not ideal to do flooring before the walls are finished but we wanted to capitalize on the empty room and the absence of small children. we'll just have to cover them really well when its time to make a mess again...I had a full day of trying to get the house back to a semi normal state. We didn't get back in town until around 11:30pm on Sat and we couldn't go home because Michael had just put down the first coat of poly-so we spent Sat and Sun night at his parents house while he finished up and we let the smell fade a little. It was so good to be home again and to sleep in our own beds! The good news is we only have to do this one more time! There are only 2 floors left to do!
